We’re here for you There are lots of opportunities for you when you join our college and lots of support available too. As an adult learner you will have access to all of our services and facilities, to help you achieve your goals. The important thing to remember is that you won’t be alone. We have a huge range of adults from lots of different backgrounds who choose to study with us. Many are returning to education after a long period away, while others are looking to progress their career with a professional qualification. Advice and Guidance Our dedicated Advice and Guidance team, who work in partnership with the National Careers Service, are on hand to help you make decisions about your future career and study options. Accredited by Matrix, they will offer you informed and impartial advice. They are there to help you decide which course and level to study and whether Full-Time or Part-Time study is the right option for you. thecollege.co.uk/advice-guidance Learning Support If you find you need extra support with your studies, our Learning Support and Study Advice teams are always on-hand to offer advice and answer any questions you have. They have access to specialist resources and equipment to meet the needs of many students. They are packed full of facilities including bookable rooms, laptop loans, online resources, eBooks and over 37,000 books, magazines and DVDs. Our professional librarians can help you with accessing, using and referencing resources, either in group sessions or a one-to-one settings. You’ll also have access to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where you can find course materials and helpful guides for your course. thecollege.co.uk/LRC Employment support Getting a qualification is only part of the story. Once you complete your course, we want to help you stand out in interviews. Every student benefits from The BASE. Designed to help our students find jobs, whether it’s while they’re studying or once they’ve completed their qualifications, The BASE assists with key job searching skills such as writing CVs and interview skills. Students also have access to our innovative Career Path* tool which can help you plan for the future.
